Do You Feel Like As Your Symptoms Change You Are Losing Parts Of Your Identity?

A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question 💭
London, AR

Hi everyone,

I was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis last year and it really destroyed my world. I was 21 and training to be a professional dancer so it felt like everything I'd been working towards was gone.

The past year I've worked really hard to get my illness under control with medication and lifestyle changes. I'm back dancing and training to achieve my dream. The plan was to try a biologic injection but recent imaging has shown that I don't have active inflammation anymore and my… read more

Dactylitis, Anyone With This Condition, Does It Ever Resolve On Its Own?

A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question 💭
Fort Walton Beach, FL

This is a Psoriatic arthritis symptom. I have Psoriatic Spondylitis, a less common form of Psoriatic arthritis. I'm just this past week having my first experience with dactylitis in my primary thumb, feels like it has been smashed with a hammer and is twice the size it normally is. Topical voltaren gel and copper fit glove has helped some, but wondering if it ever goes away.

Does Anyone Get Leg Failure Now And Then?

A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question 💭
Toronto, CA

On occasion (at least once a day) my right leg (usually) stops being "alive". It happened once that both did and I fell. Thankfully, I was in my bedroom when that happened. I always worry that it will happen on stairs or escalator.

This could be stenosis or pinched/irritated nerve roots. I'd see a doc before a real bad fall happens

Anyone Have Sudden Sharp Pain In The Back And Lower Abdomen That Stays For A Few Days Then Dissipates?

A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question 💭
USA

I have been having extreme pain recently, that is different from my usual SI joint and hip pain. This came on suddenly and strong, lasted a couple days, went away, then came back full force and suddenly again. The pain was in my lower rt quadrant in the back and abdomen, and equally felt internal. I couldn't find a way to get comfortable and was white knuckling my way through a doctor appointment where she sent me for emergency xrays and CT scan. The xrays only showed arthritis and the CT scan… read more

Tingling And Numbness In Arm - Anyone Else?

A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question 💭
Atlanta, GA

I started having some numbness and tingling in my right shoulder, down the arm and into the hand. This is 2nd time in a week it has happened. I can still move it, still feel like normal, no pain, no other symptoms (other than panic/anxiety thinking it might be a stroke) I mentioned it to my rheumatologist when i saw her last week and she said its probably a nerve as the other time happened when i was driving for a couple of hours..

Has something like this happened to anyone else?
