Hi everyone,

I was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis last year and it really destroyed my world. I was 21 and training to be a professional dancer so it felt like everything I'd been working towards was gone.

Hi Yousef,

Many thanks

I just try to eat as balanced a diet as possible, I don't follow any particular regimes. I swim occasionally but I go to the gym and dance regularly.

I take sulfasalazine daily as well as trying a variety of anti inflammatory medications - Naproxen & Celebrex didn't work for me, I now take Etoricoxib daily which has helped.

Hope this helps!

Abi,

I'm happy for you that you've managed to go into remission. I hope it stays that way for you and that you can live a healthy long life.

What sort of diet were you doing?
Also did you do any swimming by any chance?

I was told that swimming really helps.

Also, were you only using Nsaids to control your symptoms or another drug?

All the best,
