I have been diagnosed with AS. I have always had the lower back pain but now it has progressed to my hips and butt. I rely on strong pain medication to get me through the day. I have received 2 medial branch block test injections in my lower back that were each designed to last for hours or, if lucky, days. I found they each provided minimal pain relief for a few hours.
