I Have Light Sensitivity In My Left Eye And Trouble In Same Eye With Blurriness And Night Driving.

I wear sunglasses but it just tones it down on a sunny day compared to the right eye. I have excessive redness in which no drops alleviate. Does anyone have this problem and is it related to AS at all? Grazie

Familiar with sensitivity & night driving blurrs. Opto said I have inflammed optic nerve (not Uveitis...yet?) I use pink sunglasses at night for driving glares (better than yellow lense for me) & OTC dry eye meds, but no prescription was given? I'm due for a check up, first one since AS diagnosis - curious of any changes now. Never thought seeing life through rose colored glasses meant this ...right? :( Take good care of you & prayers for good outcome.

@A MySpondylitisTeam Member. Have you had cataract surgery already? These are common symptoms of cataracts. A lot of people aren't aware that most optometrists don't diagnose and treat cataracts. An opthamologist is the type of dr for that. After new lenses are put in the blurriness, double vision, and night blindness will subside. Be aware, cataracts surgery is sometimes very painful and takes a week or longer to heal for folks with inflammation, especially for uveitis. Don't be alarmed if it happens to you. It happened to me in one eye. It healed fine, but took a full month, couldn't open that eye for about 10 days, was afraid something went wrong. Just more fun and games for us autoimmuners.☺️

This sounds familiar. I noticed that the vision in my left eye had become worse. Then whilst driving i missed a turn off because couldn’t see it due to the sun being low but realised that i have never had this before so went to see the optician who told me i had cataracts developing which was normal for my age and i had Uveitis.
Your situation sounds more sever but ‘at the risk of teaching grandma to suck eggs’ do you think it could be Uveitis.

I have extreme light sensitivity and wear sunglasses most days. Sometimes putting my head under a pillow with some pressure helps with eye pain. I did have cataract surgery about 6 years ago, I was just diagnosed with ocular neuropathy. The only thing I have found useful is dulaxatine with 2 naproxen sodium which only takes the edge off so I can function as normal as possible. Hope this helps
