Spondylitis vs. Spondylosis: Are They One and the Same? Read Article...

πŸ˜‚Heaven help the planet relying on me!πŸ€£πŸ˜‚we're all doomed now for sure!! Especially with that nut in Mississippi chiming in!πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ˜ Just kidding BarbieLux you smart smarty pants you!πŸ˜πŸ™ƒAnd what about Brian2?! He's the guru!

Awe shucks, I'll take a stab at it from what I've read here and there...

Spondylosis, according to Mayo, is "...a general term for age-related wear and tear...common and worsens with age...more than 85% of people older than 60...nonsurgical treatments are often effective". In Pitac terminology...aka "payin for the playin"πŸ˜‰ or "age-itis".

Spondylitis, according to Healthline.com, "is a group of inflammatory conditions that affect the joints in your spine." It is not so much due to wear and tear as it is due to inflammatory molecules in your blood called cytokines that mistake your spine for an invading pathogen and they attack it. This attack causes inflammation that can be severe, sometimes fast, and last until the cytokines are stopped. It is an auto-immune disease sometimes, rarely affectively, treated with medication. In Pitac terminology, "oh-$#it-osis" because it usually has a bunch of stenosis involved.

And, yes, you can have both, as in my case. I have a lot of old injuries as the result of 3 totaled car accidents, falling out of a banyan tree on my back across a protruding root, falling off a galloping horse, off a ladder, and more tackle assaults than any woman should ever endure, then the ensuing 10 years of contact martial arts where I learned how to deal with those bloody assailants 🀨😏. That is the Spondylosis part of my hot mess. The Spondylitis part is from Psoriatic Arthritis/Spondylitis that I was lucky enough to develop from being too busy to get strep throat treated 20 years ago. One is from living large, 'osis, the other from disease, 'itis. In Pitac terminology it is better known as "Age-itis with a dose of oh-$#it-osis"
A sense of humor is the best coping mechanism when you're looking at a 6 level cervical spine fusion if the stem cell gig doesn't take.πŸ˜¬πŸ˜‰πŸ™

Mitzi you have double dose, I also have kidney disease, and fatty liver, and COPD, and Pacemaker, and flat feet, and a bunch of stuff I don't feel. The first stuff could take me, but Ii TELL my meditation teacher I'm ready to go, but could I stick around, lol, until our daughter gets her PhD which is May 10. Ah I'm a sissy! Of course, I will be there, and that is reason to wear my sport coat. However it won't hide my left sloping shoulder. (:<()That's okay. I won't be there for me.
