Besides Plantar Fasciitis, How Has Having AS Affected Your Feet & Ankles?
I’m experiencing a lot of swelling and pain located in my ankles but also in the other joints of my feet, sometimes stabbing pains, aching, neuropathy, numbness & certain movements cause sharp pains. Some days it feels like I sprained my ankle, others not. They also at times appear bruised. X-rays show no significant arthritis. Does anyone else experience this type of pain & has your rheumatologist confirmed it’s related to AS?
I used to have compression socks, but am doing much better now with Yoga and Hydroxychloroquine.
Chest Pain With Spondylitis?
I have occasional severe chest pain across the middle of my chest. a couple years ago I talked to my primary care physician about it and he had no clue. Chest xray, EKG, etc showed NO CARDIAC PROBLEMS. Next time I see him I'll tell him of chest pain with spondylitis. Good to know! It had scared me.
Thank you all for your replies.
Very hard to sift thru what is normal winter chest stuff and what is AS related.

Thanks both, much appreciated

My right shoulder seems to have a new trick…and the only way I can describe it is a very sharp pain, but it feels like there’s a gas bubble inside the joint. And it will stay there for quite a while. My kids think I’m crazy. I have a pretty high tolerance for pain, but it almost feels like when the aspirate the joint to remove fluid. Does anyone else have this happen or am I special?
You might look into the possibility that you have a torn rotator cuff. You will need to get a MRI of the joint to determine if that is the cause. I have had rotator cuff repairs on both shoulders, two… read more
Is Spondylitis An Autoimmune Disease Too ?
I am a newly diagnosed patient with Spondylosis. My condition is very advanced, considering I'm just 33 years old. I have a plethora of non pain related symptoms all day everyday in Conjunction with my pain and limited mobility. Is this considered an autoimmune disease too?
