@A MySpondylitisTeam Member. Hi Susie! Great question. I do recall doing that many years ago when i was a teen after emerging from my first totaled car accident (passenger, im a safe driver😏). I dont recall it helping, but im pushing 60 now so might not recall the details. I think i went once. However, i had been a competitive swimmer for about 8 years by then and, therefore, my whiplashed knocked around neck was super flexible and strong, spine developing strong. I think that probably saved me. I was somersaulted and/or spun 180 face upside down in the front seat of a 4 door sedan. Anyway, cervical traction for me now is quite helpful using the collar surgeons have their cervical surgery patients recover and rehab in. I think theres a pic of me modeling it in the updates of my wall last year in case you need a pictorial of it. Just call me Vanna🤪 It looks far worse than it feels when wearing it. When my neck is flaring i wear it up to twice a day for 30 minutes. After a week or two it's settled down again for me to resume the Physical Therapy work Ive been doing for over a decade now to stay out of the OR. So far so good. Ive gone from recommended fusion (ACDF) of 6 vertebra to 4. Anything is possible Susie! Dont let the MRIs scare you. Reach out anytime. Yours in better health, P 😌🙏
