Spondylitis: What People Don’t See (Infographic)

Posted on January 22, 2018

Below the surface, living with spondylitis can mean days in pain, missed appointments, and alternate days when we seem “fine.” There’s so much more to spondylitis than meets the eye. We know that spondylitis comes with hundreds of possible combinations of symptoms, many of which appear invisible to outsiders. Most people don’t see the many ups and downs we experience.

On MySpondylitisTeam.com, the social network and online support group for people living with spondylitis, members discuss the chronic nature of the disease and its hidden symptoms. MySpondylitisTeam has grown to reach more than 87,000 members who have shared thousands of conversations about life with spondylitis. Throughout the year we will share themes we see come up time and time again on MySpondylitisTeam. We chose the image of an iceberg to represent spondylitis symptoms because the life-impacting implications of a spondylitis diagnosis aren't obvious on the surface. Please share to spread spondylitis awareness!

Is it back pain or spondylitis? Learn all about the early signs and symptoms.

This list is by no means exhaustive. What symptoms would you add?
