What Kind Of Doctor Should I Be Working With For My Cervical Spondylitis?
I would also consider a neurologist. Acupuncture REALLY helps me. You might consider that.
@NancySwonsonpeg. Hi Nancy, sorry youre dealing with a "pain in the neck" in more ways than one. βΊοΈ. I have moderately advanced cervical spine dramas too, have been dealing with a long time. MRIs for it to get a good clear look at the nerves, joints, discs and all the soft tissue can be ordered by any dr, but typically it's an Orthopedic Spine or Neurological Surgeon, sometimes a Rheumatologist but the Rheumi defers to the surgeon if you're thinking about surgical methods to manage it. I've been managing mine with a commitment to directed physical therapy by a Dr, or minimum Master of Physical Therapy for over 10 years. My only surgery option is fusion from C2-T1. That doesn't sound appealing to me so I make sure i do my PT every day. So far i still have good range of motion and hardly any pain. Good luck Nancy. ππ
For cervical spondylitis, a rheumatologist is the most specialized doctor to diagnose and manage the condition. They have expertise in treating spondylitis and can create a tailored treatment plan. Additionally, you may benefit from working with a physical therapist for exercises and pain management. Always consult your Show Full Answer
