I'd be in a diaper too curled into pretzel position with blown out hemorrhoids if I didn't stick to FODMAP diet. As for meds, I tried. They all made me much worse.

Pitac: You are lucky, you don't have to take any extra medications. Unfortunately, if I don't I'm wearing a diaper for hours/days. I think I need to read your wall and get some new ideas--mine don't always seem to work. Thank you for support and your great outlook on this illness.

I take a probiotic from Garden of Life and stick to the FODMAP diet like the Pope sticks to the Bible. NO diversion. Ive been perfect in
consistency and like clockwork for 12 years now doing it that way. No meds needed, not even a Tums. Cheat, suffer, no cheat no dramas. πŸ’©πŸ˜€

@A MySpondylitisTeam Member. That's exactly how it was for me. FODMAP. It's all about sugar chains. That is an acronym for Fermentable Oligosaccharides Disaccharides Monosaccharides And Polyols. Many fruits and veggies set it off as well as all cane sugar substitutes. Just to name a few surprising culprits...broccoli, peas, beans, watermelon, apples, pears, honey, ALL sugar substitutes, gluten, lactose. I've been on the diet 12 years. It's strict and really tough in the beginning, but worth getting out of the house and seeing the light again. I'll see if I can find my attachment, if it doesn't come up, look through the updates section on my page. When you're scrolling down, the page will pause a couple seconds before you can scroll down more. You might get to the bottom where there is a "load more" button, just push it. The first month going backward there will likely be conversations, but then it will only be the remedies. I clean the page up periodically to keep only what remedies help me. πŸ˜ŒπŸ™

@A MySpondylitisTeam Member thanks for great response will check out your page, I’ve not had a solid bowel movement since November, 5 minutes after food and I’m at the toilet, I’m getting really nasty stomach cramps like my whole tummy spasms and tenses up causing intense pain, it’s very much the same pain as cramp in your leg and the pain stays with me for a while till it loosens, bowel movements a good 7/8 times a day, mentioned numerous times at GP appointments but never dealt with I fear leaving the house πŸ’©
