@A MySpondylitisTeam Member, some dentists know the answer. Start with your dentist. My personal experience is, yes, it can. Jaw joint inflammation from AS does impact my gums. I practice good dental hygiene to slow or reverse the damage. So, far, minimal loss. I did switch to a toothpaste, Periobiotic Silver, by Designs for Health, that seems to help me more than others.

I have slight receding that I attribute to the harsh medications I'm on due to the conditions I have

I've had burning mouth for years.
Some recession but I don't think it's an issue, or at least my dentist hasn't expressed that. I do get jaw aches and have had TMJ in the past.

I do, but don't know if entirely related to AS or not.

I think dental issues are separate from medical issues.

I do think good dental care is important to your health.

I added a water pick a couple of years ago & that improved my gums.
