How Does Pelvis SI Joint Pain Infusion Feel ? I Have Horrible SI Joint Pain And Am Considering Fusion.
@DianeGentike. There is another option other than fusion. BMAC stem cell transplant. Recently approved by FDA and covered by many insurers. See attached reference. I'm getting it done next week into my neck in lieu of a 6 level fusion.
If you're taking about getting a surgery I highly recommend it. I have 3 titanium pins in my right si joint and the amount of pain involved in the surgery. Is nothing compared to the pain of dealing with si disfunction for a couple months. I can walk like a normal person sometimes get out of chairs use stairs. my left side still hurts though and I'm pushing for another surgery. I hope you have as many good days as possible.
This is great! Keep us informed of your progress.
What i interpret from these answers is that movement and exercise is crucial to whether or not fusion is successful at reducing pain.
@A MySpondylitisTeam Member. Fantastic news Trent! I might just not need it! I'm 8 weeks past my stem cells transplant and finally have full range of motion and strength back in my neck. Honestly, and I dont ever use this word, almost miraculous. I can't wait to get my MRI update in 4 months to see just how much improvement there really is. But if I do ever get SI fusion, I'll get your Dr to do it. It'll give me a good excuse to vacay with my daughter again "up the road" in Olympia, WA. On a ladder?! That's outstanding!! Do you do much PT?
