Go to get an eye exam. They should be able to detect any issues. This is how I was referred to an ophthalmologist and found out I have a form of uveitis called ampiginous choroiditis. Which is caused by an inflammatory response leaving lesions behind.

- Feeling like sandpaper or grit in the eye
- Photophobia (sensitivity to light), severe eye pain, and pressure

Tests for eye issues related to spondylitis include:

- A thorough eye exam by an ophthalmologist
- Use of a slit-lamp (a specialized microscope) to check for uvea inflammation
- Testing for the HLA-B27 protein to confirm spondylitis-related uveitis

If not treated, uveitis can lead to complications like glaucoma and vision loss.
