When Standing Up After Sitting Or Getting Up In The Morning, I Can Barely Walk For 5-10 Minutes. The Pain In My Feet Is So Bad.

When standing up after sitting or getting up in the morning, I can barely walk for 5-10 minutes. The pain in my feet is so intense. I’m honestly scared to death I’ll end up in a wheelchair by 50.

Thank you for your response BarbieConnie ! Cute gif! I think I'll stick with my pilates bar roll to control the tension.😬 My favorite DPT left the area, but he showed me how hard the fascia tissue needs to be dug into to release those rock hard knots. Yeah, a good DPT is hard to find, great that you have one.

I'm reading others' reports about their various surgeries. Ayeayeaye...😬I'm learning that I need to figure out how to deal with it all at home. My body responds badly to tampering, and it needs a lot of tampering...
Oh well, not dead yet and everything is still attached. I have a fantastic year ahead and no surgeries will be interfering, not this year!!

Thanks again BarbieConnie! Have a wonderful Christmas Eve Week!

Hi @A MySpondylitisTeam Member!
It's done by a physical therapist. He/she takes a quarter inch thick hand held scraper and applies a lot of muscle with it scraping it lengthwise down the bottom of your foot while you lay on the table trying your best not to cry. Believe me..it HURTS! The scraping only lasts 10 or 15 minutes each session. They also have you do the normal fasciitis exercises with the band beforehand.
I hate it but love the results. My podiatrist recommended my physical therapist because of his success rate with fasciitis. Best of luck!
Sending hugs.. BC

Because I have had auto immune for such a long time I did not know how it affected my feet and tendons for a long time. Finally, I went to a rheumatologist and she put all the puzzle pieces together, and I found out that many of the things that I had been suffering from, were related to the inflammatory arthritis and spondylitis. I am now Remicade infusions. I honestly feel like it has changed my life. I still have considerable pain, but going from a nine or 10 to a four or five is amazing when I have not felt this well in years the biggest issue I have with my feet is my bones are deformed now and I can not wear very many shoes, so I am almost stuck with sketchers that are stretchy slippers or flip-flops. I suppose that wearing high heels all those years and business suits has something to do with that I have found exercising my feet really help. I know that sounds weird but it’s true go online and look up foot exercises for plantar fasciitis and tendinitis.

@A MySpondylitisTeam Member, Hi BC, I hope you are doing well today🥰. If you have time to respond, could you please explain the "scraping" procedure? I've never heard of this, but if it keeps you walking without pain there i might talk to my ortho about it. 😌🙏

Hi AngelChristine, I have Plantar Fascitis in my feet. The ligament that runs from my toes through the length of the bottom of my foot and up my achilles gets extremely tight. I've had them scraped twice. I should go again now but that treatment hurts terribly while it's being done. Mine usually take 5 or 6 treatments to have me walking really good again. It lasts 5 or 6 years until I need to go again. For me, gabapentin helps to relieve the pain. Everyone is different and what helps me may or may not help you. God bless. I hope you find a treatment that helps you... Connie
