Sorry for that long answer .. it’s obviously showing the stress I’ve been under too.. especially missing my Husband so much .. however him going to that job made it so I could stop working the job that was wreaking havoc on my body .. between the physical pain and extreme stress of the many aspects of the job.. ( I was a support worker for a 500 pound woman with extreme anxiety, depression and autism .. I was doing way more than my body could handle and she developed a fixation on me .. separation anxiety, and a dependency that was giving me little time off and only paid for 25 hours a week but there more than 50 hours …nearly had a nervous breakdown).
I won’t get more in to that .
Sorry I’ve written so much ..

Unfortunately the heel pain is part of AS. When I wake up in the morning, it feels like I have wooden feet like Pinocchio. A couple of days I fell into the wall or the wall caught me 🙃. It’s getting concerning.
I do stretches that include my ankles but I’m going to have to do them daily and be mindful about it when I’m sitting down. Just lifting each leg off the floor so I can flex my ankle. Also “writing” the alphabet with my foot without moving the leg. It moves the ankle all around. It was a technique learned in a previous Physical Therapy session for an ankle injury my son had many times. also I’m going to start doing some ankle stretches in the bed before I go to sleep. Maybe it will help the mornings 🤷🏼‍♀️

I hope you find relief ! Please do share if you find something helpful. 🤗

I have the heel pain that hurts all the time. And, stepping on them are really painful, especially in the morning. There are nights when my toes are achy. I've found that spongy sandals and slippers work well. We have all tile floors and they are really cold! I sleep with very soft socks on, too. Voltaren works well, too. Hugs, Wanda

Wow @A MySpondylitisTeam Member ! That’s alot going on in your spine. Are they planning a redo on your neck? Loose screws doesn’t sound good.

I pray that you can continue to drive. The small mirrors on your rear view mirrors may help you. Just a thought.

Hugs to you! Hope you have a peaceful day 🤗
