Question About Bamboo Spine Syndrome Where AS Causes Bone Spurs On Spine To Form All The Way Around The Discs Where It Looks Like Bamboo.
Before your spine fused completely with AS where it gives the bamboo appearance on an X-ray did you have bone spurs in just one side causing impingements and scoliosis to where it looked like regular osteoarthritis with regular bone spurs?
@A MySpondylitisTeam Member, absolutely and also causes bone loss and spine fractures. There was another picture where in extreme advancement it just ate up the ribs, pelvis. It didn’t post that picture because it might devastate people on here to even see it. I’m shocked to even know this disease can affect heart, kidneys, liver and lungs and even cause asthma and COPD. Reason is the inflammation is so severe that the inflammation leads to disease in everything else.
Oh my I too have multiple bone spurs but nothing like that. Must be very painful and does it hinder any flexibility ?
