I Would Love To Go Swimming Is It Safe To Do

I love swimming but is it safe to do when I suffer with spondylitis,osteoarthritis and bulging discs in spine I don’t want to make my conditions worse,any advice please.

Water aerobics can be great for exercise, improving your joints.@Wendywillz1662. Indoor pools with warm water. I love it.

I cant think of a better activity/exercise for back issues, as long as the water is not cold. That would cause nei pain.

Swimming, even just floating, is wonderful because all of your weight is off your hurting places. Even if you have to use a floatation device to stay on top of the water, get in there and enjoy the freedom. Just as with everything else, don't overdo it! Figure out what you should or should not do. Talking with your doc or a physical therapist might be helpful to figure out how to use water for exercise.

My experience has been nothing but positive with gentle swimming and other exercise in the water. 😊

I love to swim to , but I have trouble with the arch in my back so in use a noodle under my stomach to support my lower back area.
