I have disc and facet joint arthritis beginning at C2 all the way down. Different nerves get pinched from swelling, bone spurs, and malalignment that can impact jaw and facial muscles, fascia, and nerve pain. When mine acts up the entire side of my head has a sensation of something pushing against it, squeezing and pinching. A few years ago it caused sever TMJ pain that was sharp and stabbing even just speaking. Eating everything, even soft rice or ice cream was piercing pain. It felt like a bad tooth to ear infection. I was ready to get maxillofacial surgery, but went to an amazing physical therapist who worked on my neck, helped me learn better posture and movement through my daily activities, neck strengthening exercises and that type/level of pain has not returned. That was 6 years ago. My cervical spine disease is quoted by the MRI report as moderate to severe. It can be managed and treated without extreme surgery, but it's a full time job. It is either way, a full time job, with or without surgery. Bruce4 on this site seems to be improved from cervical spine interventional surgery. Hes the only one ive read so far that has improved from cervical spine surgery. Most are simply stable, but not improved. Many are worse. Hang in there, better treatments are just around the corner. In the meantime, get yourself a fantastic physical therapist and do what they teach you every day. Kind regards 😌🙏
