I Have Had To File For Disability And Was Curious If Anyone Else Has? I’m Not Planning To Stay On It Permanently Unless I Have To.
Then after you get your SSI you get Medicaid if you are under age for two years. Then you have a 6 month window period to get Medicare. Regardless of if you are 65 yet.
Yes, I filed social security disability after being a nurse for 22+ years and was diagnosed in 2021. I was no longer able to do my job- walking long hours, lifting, pulling, pushing, sitting etc…I attempted less physical nursing positions, but still ran into issues with stress increasing pain/inflammation, as well as some memory issues. It took about 6-9 months to get my answers, but I did qualify. Not everyone does the first time. You need lots of documentation stating you are having “ongoing” treatment & follow up for your illness. Good luck
