Does Anyone Else Have Spinal Stenosis And Resulting Leg Numbness/pain/weakness When Walking?
Does anyone else have spinal stenosis and resulting leg numbness/pain/weakness when walking? I’ve had stenosis affecting my walking to some degree since I was 26. I keep hearing I’m “too young,” so I’m just curious if others on here experience it as well.
Absolutely! Every night getting up to use the bathroom is a chore!! Walking any distance is difficult because my low back just doesn’t want to cooperate with my legs. Have to stop every few feet to rest before continuing. Terrible way to live.
My balance is terrible too. If I try to turn my body to chance direction, I fall. If I don't focus my mind on EACH step I take, I end up falling. It's really scary. I also have no flexibility in my right leg and I end up not picking my foot up high enough that I catch my toe on everything.
I do but as I had just posted what I thought was back related (pain and weakness) has been relieved by a vein ablation procedure. I have been limping and experiencing continuous pain and weakness in my right leg especially since a back surgery to relieve a herniated disk in 2006. Spinal stenosis was one of the many parting gifts from that and what I attributed for my mobility issues. However, this procedure was recommended for a totally different medical reason but is solving multiple issues. Thinking outside of the box again wins the day!
yes! all of the above. I take Gaberpentin for leg nerve pain. I walk with a cane since balance is off, I'am 66, started at 59 from a fall.
I do, the numbness is almost unbearable. I have to sit a lot. I can't stand in one place for any length of time. I can walk longer before the pain starts, but standing drives me insane with the burning and stabbing pain. I refuse to have fusion bc of the domino effect. I did find relief when I started going to a chiropractor. Guess I need to start back.
