Those Of You Whose SI Joints Are Fused Due To AS And Not Via Surgery, How Did You Know/ What ‘told’ You They Were?

Had a gynecological surgery. A lady in my AS group had one too and because they didn’t know her SI joints are fused, the dr moved her leg while under anesthesia and she woke with a fractured pelvis. I’ve always wondered how I’d know. Her experience made me come find out…

See now that’s the thing! That explains why she didn’t know. I haven’t heard about any follow up MRI that will ever be done as we continue the AS journey. I wonder how often my rheumy gets them done. Maybe every two years? I had one last year January.

Most people get an MRI, but if they're already fused they might get picked up in xray.
