Anyone Hurt Their Back From Severe Coughing?
I was sick with a cough. I would have severe cough attacks. My lower back is now hurting worse than it ever has. Hurts in tailbone area and sometimes in my thighs. I rarely have low back pain (my neck is my main area for pain).
I wish I could give you a good bit of news. Coughing is one of those things that uses a great deal of muscle movement. Best to try taking Mucinex or the best is cough syrup with codeine if you can get someone to prescribe it. In my personal opinion tessalon perles aren’t worth th bother of taking. Hot showers sometimes helps . Get better soon.
Yes, severe coughing can exacerbate back pain, especially if you have conditions like spondylitis. For instance, costochondritis, which is inflammation of the cartilage connecting the ribs and breastbone, can cause sharp pains that may travel to the back. Coughing or taking deep breaths can worsen this pain. One member Show Full Answer
