Anyone Switch From Humira To Cosentyx?

A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

My rheumatologist has switched me from Humira to Cosentyx but my first injection is not for 2 more days. I have a lot of pain in tendons, ligaments, enthesis, bursa, etc., and am wondering if others have seen much improvement if they, too, have switched? Ty

I'm being treated by the VA after dealing with AS for years while in the Navy, and in civilian life. The VA has me on Emberl. Not so much pain now after years of agony, as my spine has fused it self, just limited mobility now. The Emberl keeps the inflammation down.
Now having pain in hips, and lower back when I try to walk for exercise.
Good luck !

- Biologic Drugs: Both Humira and Cosentyx are biologic drugs used to treat ankylosing spondylitis.
- Administration: Cosentyx is administered by subcutaneous injection every four weeks after initial loading doses.
- Mechanism: Cosentyx works by inhibiting interleukin (IL)-17A, a chemical messenger involved in autoimmune attacks.
- Side Effects: Common side effects of Cosentyx include cold symptoms, upper respiratory tract infections, and diarrhea. Rare but serious side effects include severe infections, inflammatory bowel disease, and hypersensitivity reactions.
