Pros and cons. Research how your meds are manufactured. A more reliably comprehensive report source is European Medicines Agency. I yse National Institute of Health a lot. However, when i was trying biologics (i tried 5 and no longer take any because of what i learned), NIH only mentions that they are lab developed NEW DNA by combining mammalian DNA cells with human ones. Only European Medicines Agency divulges what those mammalian cells are. Chinese Hamster Ovaries.
The real problem with biologics is that even though a test does exist, drs do not routinely test for which cytokine(s) in your body are responsible for your inflammation. They blindly try you on one drug after another until o e gelps, if one helps at all. And they all have potentially life threatening side affects, if not immediately, eventually almost certainly.
Do your own research about your disease, your symptoms, and treatments. National Institute of Health, European Medicines Agency, Ayurveda Medicine library, Cleveland Clinic and Science Direct are all my favorites as well as several others like Mayo and Health magazines (which give good general outlines).

I felt terrible all over. Pain issues, stomach problems, and just general malaise. What I have found with medication is that it lessens the issues, but does not make them disappear. My understanding is that the biologic meds such as Cosentyx, Humera, etc simply stop the progression of the disease. Of course there are other drugs that do help with pain such as steroids, different anti inflammatorys, etc. I take leflunomide, but am not sure how much it helps. If I went off of it maybe I could see a difference, but don’t want to chance it.
