It sounds like you're experiencing persistent pain that worsens with activity. Here are some tips that might help manage your pain:

- Pillows for Support: Using pillows can make a significant difference. For example, placing pillows under your knees while lying on your back or between your legs while sleeping on your side can alleviate lower back pain.
- Experiment with Positions: Some people find relief by putting their legs up on pillows or using body pillows to take pressure off their lower back.
- Physical Therapy: Gentle exercises and physical therapy can help reduce pain and improve your overall function. Consult with a trained therapist to find the best exercises for you.
- Mindfulness and Meditation: Practicing mindfulness and meditation can help manage stress and pain. These techniques can help you stay present and reduce anxiety, which can worsen pain.

@A MySpondylitisTeam Member. Thank you for your service and the sacrifice, particularly of your spine, Fred. That job is indeed one that will mess it up. The positions that you guys have to get into and maintain pressure for maintaining those jets is tough indeed. The families of those pilots are greatful for all you did to keep them safe in the air and, especially, on landing. My husband flew them for over 20 years. F15Cs. Ironically, im the one with the crumbling spine as a result of my life with him😏. Who would have thought? His spine is fine. I am very greatful for that. Good luck with the ablation. Please post how it goes. At the time i was first offered that i didn't want the risk for only a few months. But after the past few days. I might give it a go too. Best of luck to you Fred! Good karma coming your way for relief. Again, please post how youre feeling from it monthly. It helps the rest of us who are on the fence with yet another procedure. Kindest regards πŸ˜ŒπŸ™

I'm assuming nerve ablation.

I'm 27 now and im getting a nerve ablation done here soon too.

Essentially they damage specific nerves to stop them transmitting the pain signals.

Yes nerves can grow back within 6 months, or even longer than a year.

The good part is you can have the ablation done as many times as needed.

It's a long-term solution.

Unlike cortisone shots, they are short-term and can not be repeated dozens of times.

The nerves will perpetually take longer time to heal after each ablation.

6 months could turn to a year then perhaps the rest of your life.

Because of my age, I don't want vertebrae fusion yet. I will in the future when I'm over 50.

Good luck.
