Does Anyone Suffer From Swollen, Tender Glands Around The Throat/ears While In A Flare? This Is A New One For Me

@A MySpondylitisTeam Member. @A MySpondylitisTeam Member. Hi Ladies, are you 100% certain that it is in your glands as opposed to the soft tissue ligaments and others in the neck area? The beginning of my odyssey was in my neck and felt like it could be a gland issue just below and behind my ears, eventually spreading down to my collarbone and jaw, but the beginning felt glandular. It was/is actually soft connective tissue inflammation characteristic of psoriatic soft tissue disease, specifically related to cervical spine spondylitis. The good news....the stem cells transplant I had in April seems to have provided a significant level of relief. For the first time since I can remember, 30 years maybe, I don't have a ton of grinding and rock rolling sounds when I move my neck and I have almost complete range of motion restored. There is hope, girls, of cervical spine improvement without surgery. Mine was/is in a condition where a 6 level complete fusion was my only treatment option. So if your neck investigations reveal a terrible state, don't despair. The new millennium has brought new and better treatments.šŸ˜Š

Pitac, hey girlie, I am not sure what is going on in the throat area. I do have a nodule on my thyroid. But to be honest I think itā€™s all this smoke I am sucking in. Iā€™ll need to get out one of my Covid masks. Today seems cleared but itā€™s early yet. I do know there is a fire 20 minutes from here as they are in the process of evacuating. Weird, I left Florida to escape the heat. Now I have smoke to go with itšŸ™„

Thank you for taking the time to answer.
We are definitely twinning as Iā€™m for the Rheumatologist on Friday also!!
I will be very interested to hear an update on how you get along. Have you tried many biologics before now?
Sorry to hear you are also in flareā€¦. I hope your rheumatologist is a good one and listens to you.
Sending some Irish luck your way x

Hi Victoria, itā€™s funny you asked that question as I am having those issues for the very first time. I am also in a flare. Itā€™s always something with these diseases. I start a new biologic Friday. It will be interesting to see what happens. Iā€™ll let you know. Hugs my friendā¤ļø
