How Does Everyone Deal With The Pain Of AS?
As
My experience with gabapentin has been so good! Others I know have not had the same experience, so you can try it if your doctor is open to it. Mine prescribed one 300 in the morning and two 300s at bedtime. Works for me!
Externally applied e-stim products are helpful. Icy Hot has one operated with a button lithium battery. There are others that are best used while watching TV because of control module attachments.
One hour long soak in tub with 3 or more cups Epsom salts is helpful. Best to fill the tub as high as possible to help body "float". Better yet if you have a jetted tub.
Massage. Better yet, Massage with externally applied (topical) 1:1 CBD:THC canna cream.
I do gabapentin , and a nasal spray calicitonon- salmon . I also wear a body shaper while I’m working in the yard . I am only 130lbs but got a large because I wanted it to support not squeeze me . I also use icy-hot , it’s the only one that helps my pain . My heating pad is my friend in the winter too .
@A MySpondylitisTeam Member. What a miracle! Double lung transplant and you're alive and able to type, a true medical miracle 🙏. Congratulations! Alas, lifelong pain is to be expected for you. Ask them about the rarer antioxidant supplements, and research them yourself at the National Library of Medicine at National Institute of Health.gov.
- Andrographolide, particularly helpful for lungs and cancer as well as arthritis. More effective when blended with curcumin
- Fucoxanthin and Astaxanthin, both come from seaweed and work best taken with fish oil ( Omega-3)
- vitexin and isovitexin, from mung beans
- cannabis in edible or topical, both thc and cbd
Godspeed with your continued recovery😌🙏
Sadly having just had a double lung transplant all my medication has been stopped so all I have is paracetamol and fentanyl patch and I may never get back to being able to take medication again due to it interacting with my immuno suppressants. But hot showers and heat pads do help but I also have added pain now in my feet as I was in a coma for 4 weeks and so my legs etc lost muscle mass and strength and my feet are so painful daily. Any natural remedies I would love to hear about them I can run past my team on 24th June when I visit them.
Keep fighting family xxxxx
