What Blood Tests Can Definitively Diagnose The Specific Effective Medications?

A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I now understand there are many variations of AK; JAK, and other immune factors. I have not had any tests done before being diagnosed; therefore I am questioning the efficacy of Sublocade in my case.

@A MySpondylitisTeam Member. Thanks Susan. That was about 6 months ago. All is well now. Naturally.

Pitac, I am so sorry you're going through so many problems from what is presented to us as a cure. I know you feel my frustration at being used as a guinea pig; having doctors try the latest medications with little regard for our long term health. I wish better outcomes in the future.

@A MySpondylitisTeam Member You can request a cytokine panel assay to determine exactly which inflammatory molecules are causing your inflammation. Insurance may or may not pay for it and it can be quite expensive. Also, depending on where you live, it might not be available. The blood drawn has to go into a specialized centrifuge within 24 hours of it being drawn. You can find more detailed information on this subject at National Institute of Health.org. You might need to travel to a teaching or research hospital for this type of test. I'm looking into it myself because I've been "tried" on 5 biologics the past 3 years all to no avail and it is beginning to wreak havoc on my blood work, not to mention gave me acute bronchitis and a sinus infection less than 48 hours after my last injection. Good luck! 😌🙏

There is no single test to diagnose. You are diagnosed on your symptoms, a physical exam, bloodworks, imaging (like mri or x rays) and your doctor’s judgement…
