Headaches And Ankylosing Spondylitis

A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question 💭

My cervical spine is fused from AS (except C1 and C2). I have daily headaches, sometimes severe. I can always tell when the Tylenol wears off as the headache comes back. Are these headaches the result of a fused C spine?

I can not imagine trying to manage neck pain with only Tylenol (Phone number can only be seen by the question and answer creators) a few times a day. I’m hoping they find a better pain management plan for you. I have started a full spectrum cannabis cream project thc cbd cbn cbg etc. .
I find making cannabis Cream adding botanicals too etc I’m able to gain assistive pain reduction. I add arnica, frankincense peppermint etc.
I warm in up and apply liberally as often as it’s needed every half hour if necessary. It’s an assistive tool. I also use it to try to slow down a stiff neck head ache etc . I also decarb cannabis flower add a bit of olive oil or gee organic butter etc to bind the product and make a pot of tea then titrate my tea all day long . I also make cook batter that is infused and eat a few as needed daily if needed. For me it’s assistive and help get me through my day . I wish you a speedy recovery to baseline!

to all- Regarding headaches. Because my GFR levels had increased, I have been able to take lowest doses of NSAIDs. My primary doctor said if I take a NSAID at the SAME TIME as Tylenol it increases the benefits of both. It has worked, at least with headaches. I rarely get headaches if I stick to the time limit. If I go beyond 12 hours, a mild headache will begin, but never a bad one. I hope I will be able to continue to take Alleve, but it is a "wait and see" determination. I will get another blood test, checking my GFR levels, the end of June. That is a Kidney Function test along with Creatine. I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes in 2004, though I think I had much earlier than that. It has damaged my Kidneys over the years. ONE DAY AT A TIME, RIGHT FOLKS? MY STRENGTH COMES FROM GOD, MOMENT BY MOMENT! ❤️

Tylenol DOES work for my current type of headaches. I don't feel the need to take anything stronger, though I HAVE considered CBD products. My son is encouraging it. I do use Ben Gay on my neck and other areas of pain. I find that to be helpful.

it isn't migraines as I know the difference between them. I suffered with migraines since I was a child with many trips to the ER for pain shots, once by ambulance. The last migraine that I had was years ago and I forget the name of the drug that was used. It took only 20 minutes for it to be COMPLETELY GONE, not just make me relax like Toradol or Demerol.

@A MySpondylitisTeam Member, it could be migraines, you should get checked for them.
