How Do You Keep Mineral Intake Adequate In Diet For Bones And Health?

A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I’m a chronic dieter with IBS. I can’t take vitamin and mineral pills because it nullifies my thyroid medicine. I’ve tried researching foods high in magnesium and calcium but I can’t find anything high enough. I don’t want to eat a ton of food to get minerals. They say our water here has high mineral content but it is brown so afraid to drink it.

@A MySpondylitisTeam Member, it's probably being dehydrated as I forget to drink much because I'm always running to the restroom. I downloaded a drinking app that reminds me to drink and it seems to be helping

I eat cheese, ice cream, and drink chocolate milk for my calcium content. Can't take a supplement as it plays havoc with my stomach and then bowel.

Me too! I’m having to include more dairy but it runs my blood sugar up and gives me seborrhea but it’s better then what the supplements do to me,

Multi vitamin, vit A, B-12, B-complex, Biotin, (Calcium, Magnesium, Zinc), all in one.
A - eye & Immune
Biotin - energy
Calcium, Magnesium, Zinc - Bone & muscle
D-3 - Immune & bone
Ginger root - Blood pressure & digestive
Lutein - Eye health
MM
B-12 - supplement and B Complex, supplement.
We have no idea what these do to our bodies, I've researched and found these to be helpful, one never knows.
Blessings to all,

I use pink Himalayan with trace minerals but was told the mineral content is too low, that we still need a higher level of minerals than that. I notice the bag says trace on it meaning extremely little. Better than nothing as every little bit helps but itn’t going to make much difference if mineral levels are low. Tamcolem, if your electrolytes are constantly low then either you are dehydrated from diabetes not being in check after each meal, or you have hyperthyroidism, or you drink too much caffeine or your blood pressure med is too strong for you. Mine is low if I fast and forget to eat salt since i’m on blood pressure med. Also if thyroid is off or my diabetes is up, I can’t stand the taste of regular salt after using himalayan.
