I am 66. About to start a biologic. Nervous about getting the shingles shot and also biologics. I'd love to hear about your experiences or thoughts. Thank you!

Thanks for asking this. Just got my covid and flu vax. I got shingles last October. IT WAS HELL! On my scalp and neck. Never experienced such constant, long term pain in my life!! I advise everyone, now to get the shingles vaccine!! Believe me, you don't want to get shingles!! And I live with chronic pain! I handle it better than shingles pain!

I haven't gotten it yet. My Rheumatologist said it was okay. My PCP told me to get it when I have a couple of days in case I feel ill. I've had a flu shot and Pneumovax because I've had chronic Pneumonia before COVID. As long as it's cleared by my professionals, collaboratively, I'll get it. Being in healthcare for 29 years still, I've seen it and where it shows up. When it shows up around the eyes or face, it's high risk
and particularly damaging. One patient had it on her neck and behind her ear and needed an ear flush for "earwax buildup" and had shingles in her ear canal, Dr. confirmed. It wasn't wax. Everyone has a choice and I respect it, no matter what. I am going to get it, finally. It's another thing I do not want to deal with if I can prevent it, somehow.

Thank you. I finally got brave enough for the shingles shot and got the first one 3 days ago. No problems as long as it doesn’t cause a flare in the coming weeks. I am really tired though.
Good luck. Hope you figure out the hives. Everything affects everything else and makes this very hard. πŸ’•

I am almost 66 and haven't received my shingles shots! They put it off because I had CIU. Chronic Hives source unknown anaphylactic reactions to several sources.😬
