I too have Fibromyalgia also and the lower back pain and hip pain making walking difficult. I use a cane for balance. Sometimes itโ€™s hard to distinguish the AS from the Fibro. I use CBD tincture and topical balm along with NSAIDS. Trying hard not to use prescription drugs due to the side effects. The pain we feel is real but some canโ€™t understand because it isnโ€™t visible.

What kind of back surgery did you have? I've been told that my condition is not conducive to surgery...only medication.

You are not crazy, I too have the same diseases, as well as Ulcerative Colitis. I feel like a poster child for autoimmune diseases. I have complained of hip pain as well all my life. Recently developed sciatica, and after a year of the worse pain I have had to date, and being unable to even walk to one room from another, I saw a neurosurgeon. He did my surgery the first of the year, and I have a lot of relief from the sciatica, but still have crippling pain in my back. The weather changes affect me greatly and I am now to the point that I must have a walking stick in order to just walk around in my house. I am fearful that I will in the not so distant future need to use a wheelchair to get around. Hang in there, try to do your exercises and walk as far as you can daily. It does help but since I have gotten older, I have developed osteoarthritis in my knees and that really keeps me off balance along with the back/hip issues. I wish you well and many long periods of remission.
