NONSTEROIDAL ANTI-INFLAMMATORY DRUG (NSAID)
Overview
Mobic is a prescription medication that was approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat osteoarthritis, adult rheumatoid arthritis, and juvenile rheumatoid arthritis in children age 2 or older. Mobic is sometimes prescribed to treat spondylitis. Mobic may be referred to by its drug name, Meloxicam.
Mobic is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). NSAIDs help reduce fever, pain, and inflammation. Mobic is believed to work by inhibiting the production of chemicals that promote inflammation and blood clot formation in the body.
How do I take it?
Mobic is taken once daily.

Side effects
The FDA-approved label for Mobic lists common side effects including cold and flu symptoms, upset stomach, and diarrhea.
Rare but serious side effects listed for Mobic include liver and kidney damage, severe allergic reactions, edema (swelling), and heart failure.
