Tentative About Starting Humira

A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question 💭
Mckinleyville, CA

I was recently diagnosed with AS. I had started Celebrex 3 days before meeting my rheumatologist. The rheumatologist barely read my chart or listened to anything I was saying before telling me I need to start Humira. My inflammation markers are all down to normal ranges after Celebrex. My pain levels are drastically reduced - though I still have SI joint pain. The Dr said Humira stops the disease progression- which is why I need to start. If my inflammation is down, is the disease still… read more

My physician is changing my medication from Voltaren to Celebrex because it was not working. What do you take or have taken to control the pain while you change medication therapies we’re doing this for the insurance company to say we have tried two prescription NSAIDs before I start a biologic.

Moved And New Rheumatologist Challenging Original Diagnosis, Changing Meds

A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question 💭
St Louis, MO

Help - Was diagnosed with nr-AxSpa in 2023. Recently moved to a different state and can't find the great care I had in my previous state. New rheumatologist challenging original diagnosis says if damage not seen on MRI then it's not nr-AxSpa, and wants to switch my meds from Celebrex (no longer working) to Nabumetone 500mg). I don't want to take another NSAID (bloating and Celebrex didn't work). Should I get a second opinion/see a different rheumatologist before changing meds? Thanks so… read more
