Lumbar Medial Branch Block And Making Pain Worse?
Hi there, I don't know where to start. I feel like I'm trying it all for my AS with symptoms either not getting better or what gets tried making it worse. I've been seeing pain management and not sure it's helping or if the issue is that the pain is simply constant. I'm on Rinvoq and that does seem to keep symptoms to a dull roar.
I had a lumbar medial branch block today to see if that would help and so far its only made symptoms in my lower back and legs worse, while seeming to help my upper… read more
@A MySpondylitisTeam Member. I do realize how difficult movement is when the pain level is that high. That's wonderful news that you're not a candidate for spine surgery. I am a candidate for what… read more
Is Anyone Living With Advanced Liver Scarring?
No doctor was monitoring my liver other than standard yearly exam type blood work and the basic test was not showing the advanced disease. My liver enzymes have always been perfect. I asked for a scan and I’m half a point from full blown cirrhosis and headed toward liver cancer. The health system is slow setting me up with specialists. My root cause of liver injury is mismanaged diabetes and possibly an autoimmune disease of Sjogren’s not yet tested for. Rheumy appointment toward end of this… read more

Off Of Humira And Wondering What's Next?
Due to my recent move to a new state my medical professionals are unable to continue to assist me out of state. Therefore, my Humira has run out without a pre-authorization from my PCP. I read If you stop using your Humira, your condition may worsen. Humira is not a cure. Withdrawal side effects are not likely to occur with Humira, but your signs or symptoms based on your condition, like joint pain and inflammation, stomach symptoms, or structural bone damage may worsen or return.Aug 29, 2024"… read more

I Was Just Told I Do Not Have Spondylitis But Spondylosis. Does Anyone Have Any Information On This?
The second one comes from age disease, the first one comes from systemic and genetic disease. I'm not sure but I think you might be lucky to have the one that is age related.
Does Anyone Feel Guilt, Lonliness, Shame Or Blame Since AS Diagnosis?
I've dealt with lower back pain since 2019, & never heard of AS before. Thought I over did it with projects and lifting too much, but the pain is still here in 2024. I have or had plantar facitis, sciatica, bone marrow edema, herniated discs, spinal stenosis, bone spurs (all noted on MRI) 2 colonoscopy's, diverticulitis, endoscopy, gall bladder removed, 3 sets of trigger shots, SI joint Injections, IBS and I am positive for HLA-B27. I was recently diagnosed with AS. (Finally! - not that I ever… read more
Did Ankylosing Spondylitis Change You Other Than Physically?
Does anyone else feel like their personality and outlook on life has changed?
I put a smile on my face but inside I just feel so sad. Like I’m just a shell of who I used to be. Like the old me is gone. Most days I am okay but some days it is such a struggle to do anything like chores or things I use to enjoy. I don’t know maybe I’m just having a rough day. I know talking to my fellow Spondylitis sufferers understand. 😔😟
Yes, my life has been changed in every way. I struggle with depression and anxiety.
