Physical Therapy is best. Some folks take meds that are typically so overloaded with side affects that are worse than the neck pain. Some people get neck surgery, but most, if not all, still have pain, sometimes even more because of the surgery "assault". I tried stem cell transplant therapy a month ago, not much different yet, but was told takes 2 months. In the meantime I can't take any nsaids, steroids, or biologics because stem cells need inflammation ongoing to produce the molecules needed to combat inflammation. Thats about 6 months from prior to procedure. Nope. Sorry. No easy answer for that one. You gotta choose what you feel most suits your lifestyle. Whatever you choose, you might get lucky and get relief in about 6 months to a year for all of the above choices.
Yes, it took me 6 months or more of physio before full relief. I keep doing at home every day what I learned and it has not returned. That was about 6 or 7 years ago.
Thanks for the advice.
I have been attending physiotherapy session recently without taking painrelievers. No much improvement yet. Let me continue with sessions
@A MySpondylitisTeam Member. I'm not sure stem cell transplant treatments are available in Australia yet. You'll need to do a bit of online research to find out. Try querying "bone marrow stem cell transplant in Australia". Everything the procedure entails can be found in the updates section of my homepage from December of last year forward. ππ
I am also dealing with more neck pain due to the stenosis impinging on my spinal cord. I had fusion in my lumbar area a decade ago which only made things much worse for me. Iβm being told I should have more fusion to my neck. Not keen! Could you explain more about stem cell transplant therapy, please? Iβm in Australia. Not sure if itβs something that might help me.
My body reacts badly to any form of anti inflammatory medication or strong painkillers so life is becoming quite miserable.
